The Fourth Man, Daniel 3:25

Look, he answered, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. Daniel 3:25 When the three Hebrew teenagers were thrown into the fiery furnace because they wouldn’t bow to King Nebuchadnezzar’s golden idol, they were bound with cords. They should have been killed instantly, but when the king gazed into the furnace, he saw four unbound men, and one who looked like the Son of God. Your hands may be tied today—you’ve worked, prayed, believed, and done the right thing, but it seems like your dream is never going to work out. The good news is that God’s hands are not tied. He’s not limited by what’s limiting you. I believe that what’s restricted you in the past has lost its grip. It’s a new day. The fourth man has shown up. Like the Hebrew teenagers, you’re coming out, not bound. Your hands are not tied anymore. God is releasing you into new levels of your destiny.

Adversity, 1 Corinthians 16:9

…for a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries. 1 Corinthians 16:9 When you have a big future, the enemy is not going to roll out the red carpet and let you fulfil it. Paul recognized that a wide door of opportunity had opened for him, but he had many adversaries because of the favour that was on his life. The enemy recognized that Paul was a history maker, which is why he came against Paul so strongly. Many of the challenges you’ve faced—the things that didn’t seem fair, the obstacles that came out from nowhere, the people who turned on you—are because there are seeds of greatness in you. You may not see it yet, but the enemy sees it. Have a new perspective. Those difficulties are a sign that something amazing is in your future. There’s something in you that the enemy doesn’t want you to have. There’s an assignment God has for you that the enemy is trying to stop—an anointing, an empowerment, a favour that he

He Walks Through Doors, John 20:19

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you !” John 20:19 One evening the disciples were huddled together in a room behind locked doors for fear of being arrested. They did everything they could to keep people out, but Jesus suddenly walked through the door. He didn’t unlock it, open it, or try to beat it down. He just came through it. God was showing us that closed doors can’t keep us from what He has for us. The good news is that God comes through doors. He’s not limited by what’s limiting us. We’re natural; He’s supernatural. Closed doors can’t stop you. God is going to walk right through it. He’s not going to let you miss your destiny.

Faith, 2 Kings 6:18

As the enemy came down toward him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, “Strike this army with blindness.” So he struck them with blindness as Elisha had asked. 2 Kings 6:18 The king of Aram was so angry with the prophet Elisha that he sent an army to capture him. Elisha was only one man against an army, but he knew how to pray bold prayers. He had seen God open blind eyes, and now he prayed for the reverse. Not only were the soldiers struck blind, but Elisha led them into Samaria where the king of Israel captured them before their eyes were reopened. When you know that God is with you, you’ll see God do amazing things. He can protect you, guide you, and make things happen that you could never make happen. Just as with Elisha, you are so powerful and full of favor that even when the enemy does his best to defeat you, his best will never be enough. You cannot be defeated because you have the favor of God.

Be Amazed, Proverbs 16:9

We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. Proverbs 16:9 God doesn’t always take us in a straight line. We make our plans going from A to B to C. But sometimes He’ll take you from A to C, then to B. Sometimes it’s going to look like you’re going backward. You have to trust Him when you don’t understand. You have to know that God makes the final determination about your steps. The test is for you to stay in faith, believing that God is still in control, that He’s working behind the scenes, that what He started He will finish. Some of the challenges you’re facing now don’t even have anything to do with today; they’re positioning you for something in your future. If you stay in faith when things don’t make sense, over time you’re going to see how God connects the dots, how it was all a part of His plan, strategically orchestrated.

He Walks Through Doors, John 20:19

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you ! John 20:19 In John 20, Jesus had just risen from the dead. One evening the disciples were huddled together in a room behind locked doors for fear of being arrested. They did everything they could to keep people out, but Jesus suddenly walked through the door. He didn’t unlock it, open it. He just came through it. God was showing us that closed doors can’t keep us from what He has for us. Forces of darkness may have locked the door, trying to keep us outside. The door is locked with a deadbolt. The good news is that God comes through doors. He’s not limited by what’s limiting us. We’re natural; He’s supernatural. Closed doors can’t stop us. God is going to walk right through it. He’s not going to let us miss our destiny.

It’s A Faith Walk, 2 Corinthians 5:7

For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7 In the Scripture, the life of a believer is compared to an eagle. It’s interesting that day after day, parent eagles sit on their eggs to keep them warm, unmoved by what’s not changing. They never feel the baby eaglets kick, and the eggs never grow any bigger. There’s no sign of life. But on day thirty-five, suddenly the eaglet starts pecking on the shell and is hatched. While we’re waiting for a promise from God to happen, some things have to develop in the dark, in secret. We have to believe when there’s no sign on the outside that what’s inside is really alive. That promise God gave us. Don’t let the circumstances fool you. Walk by faith and not by sight.

In The Desert, Matthew 4:1

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil. Matthew 4:1 When Jesus came up out of the water after His baptism, God spoke from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son.” It was a glorious moment, signalling the beginning of His ministry. You would think Jesus would immediately start teaching and healing, but instead He was led by the Spirit into the desert. If you had seen Jesus there, you could have thought it didn’t make sense. Why the silence? Why alone in the desert? There will be times when God takes you into a silent season, into things that you don’t understand—a door closes, a person walks away. You could be down on yourself thinking, “What did I do wrong, God? Quit being discouraged over what didn’t work out. Stay in faith. You’re in a time of testing. There’s something bigger that God has in your future. He’s leading you to the fullness of what He has in store.

From No To Yes, Isaiah 38:5

“Go and tell Hazekiah, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life.”’ Isaiah 38:5 When King Hezekiah was sick to the point of death, the prophet Isaiah, who spoke for God, said to him, “Put your house in order, for you will surely die.” He didn’t say he might die or that it didn’t look good. So what do you do when God says no? Rather than give up, Hezekiah started weeping and praying and asking God for mercy. God told Isaiah to go back and tell Hezekiah, “I’ve heard your prayer and seen your tears, and I will add fifteen years to your life.” Even when we feel as though God has said no, if we dare do as Hezekiah and ask God for a yes, God can reverse a no. Every circumstance may say, “Forget it. God said no. Just live with it.” Hezekiah’s attitude was, “God, I’m asking in Your great mercy to change Your mind and give me a yes.” Are you bold enough to ask for a yes, even though al

Faithful In The Small, Luke 16:10

If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities. Luke 16:10 In 1 Samuel 17, when David was in the shepherds’ fields, his father told him to take a provision of food to his brothers who were serving on the battlefield. David could have said, “Samuel anointed me to be the next king, and now you want me to be an errand boy to brothers who disrespect me?” If David had been too proud to serve others, to do what seemed insignificant, he wouldn’t have faced Goliath. It was a test he had to pass. Had he not been faithful to do the small, he would have missed his destiny. If we are faithful in the small that God is asking us to do, He will trust us with more. Once we do the insignificant thing, the door will open to the big thing. We need to pass those tests.

The Voice Of Faith, Matthew 6:31

“… don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat ? What will we drink ? What will we wear ?’ Matthew 6:31 In Matthew 6, Jesus was talking about worry. Jesus was saying, “You may feel worried. It may seem like it’s never going to happen. Don’t get trapped by your words.” In life, there are always two voices vying for your attention. You’ll hear a voice of defeat saying, “It’s never going to work out.” But if you listen carefully, you’ll hear the voice of faith saying, “God has a way.” When you verbalize that thought, you’re giving it the right to come to pass. You have to get in agreement with God. The voice of defeat may seem louder, but you can override it. You can take away all its power by choosing the voice of faith.

Childlike Faith, Matthew 18:3

And he said, “Truly I tell you unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3 The Scripture talks about how we need to have childlike faith. Children don’t try to figure everything out. When you tell your child that you’re going to buy them something or take them to someplace, they don’t worry about any of the details. They don’t wonder if you have the finances to afford it. They don’t lose sleep over whether it’s going to happen or how it’s going to happen. Because they trust you to take care of it. Even though we’re humans and could break our promises, they have this incredible trust in us, believing that we wouldn’t promise it if we could not make it happen. What would happen if we had that same kind of trust in our heavenly Father, knowing that He cannot fail in what He has promised us, that He cannot go back on His Word?

An Abundant Mentality, Psalm 23:5

My cup overflows with blessings. Psalm 23:5 Some people try to convince us that spiritual people should be poor and not have much of anything. They seem to prefer that we should be constantly struggling, in debt, not able to pay your bills. That is not God’s best. Jesus didn’t come and give His life so we could barely get by and live off others’ leftovers. He came that we might live an abundant life (John 10:10). “Abundance” means to have plenty—plenty of joy, plenty of peace, plenty of good health, plenty of resources. Our God wants us to start having an abundant mentality.

Unlimited Resources, Psalm 3:4

"I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain." Psalm 3:4 What do you do when the odds are against you and nothing is working right? Sometimes we call on our friends or our spouse. God wants us to depend on Him. We have to recognize that we are limited, that we have restrictions. By ourselves, we’ll get stuck, but when we ask God to help us, when we turn to our Creator, supernatural things happen. He is unlimited and has unlimited resources. He controls the universe, and the good news is that He wants to help us. Now it’s time to go to the source. What we couldn’t do in our own strength, God is going to make it happen.

Remember Your History, Genesis 24:40

He replied, The Lord, before whom I have walked faithfully, will send his angel with you and make your journey a success. Genesis 24:40 When Abraham was old and close to death, he told his assistant to travel back to his hometown to find his son, Isaac, a wife. The assistant asked him how he would know if it was the right girl, and Abraham was saying, Don't worry because I have a history with God. I've seen His faithfulness over and over down through the years. I am confident it will happen. I have walked with God and seen His goodness. As Abraham did, we'll see times when God brought a promise to pass that looked impossible. He showed us mercy and turned a situation around. Whatever we face, keep walking in faithfulness and be confident that He will do it again and make our journey a success. PRAYER: “Father, Thank You that Your hand has been upon our lives in so many ways. Thank You for the countless things You have made happen for our good that we could never ma

Opposition Will Backfire, Ezra 6:8

I hereby decree what you are to do for these elders of the Jews in the construction of this house of God: Their expenses are to be fully paid out of the royal treasury…so that the work will not stop. Ezra 6:8 In the Scripture, a man named Zerubbabel was in charge of rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem that had been destroyed years earlier. Everything was going fine until they laid the foundation, then the opposition came to the point where the king of Persia shut down the work. For several years, it looked as though the enemy had won. But when the king learned of the original decree to rebuild the temple, he not only approved the restart but he ordered funds from the royal treasury to pay the full construction costs. What the enemy meant for harm, God turned for good. We may have people and circumstances coming against us, but God knows how to cause it to backfire. God does work behind the scenes. People who were against us are suddenly going to be for us.

A Time To Give Thanks, Psalm 118:1

“Oh, give thanks to the Lord for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” Psalm 118:1 Today is a special day for us to give thanks to God for the good things He has done in our land, in our lives, and in the lives of our family members. When we take the time to pause and remember, we can see those times in our life when God brought us victory, brought us success. When we remember what God has said and give thanks to God for who He is and all that He has done, it will transform our lives. And let us remember that thanksgiving is an attitude of our heart. Living with an attitude of gratitude means we don’t just thank God for what He did in the past, we also thank Him for what He will do in the future. We thank Him for opening new doors, and for bringing the right people into our life. When we thank God in advance, that’s really a declaration of faith. Live every day with an attitude of gratitude and thanksgiving.

Bigger, Greater, And More Powerful, 1 John 4:4

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1 John 4:4 We all have times when we feel like we’re surrounded by difficulties, surrounded by a sickness, or surrounded by debt. When we’re in a difficult time, the enemy will do a lot of talking. Don’t believe those lies. The enemy thinks he has you surrounded, but the Most High God has him surrounded. God knows every attack, every difficulty, every unfair situation that’s going to happen. When we feel like we’re surrounded, come back to the place of peace and say, “I know my God is still on the throne, and He is surrounding what’s surrounding me. He’s bigger than this opposition, greater than this sickness, and more powerful than these enemies. The forces for us are greater than the forces against us.

The Fight For Your Future, Psalm 30:1

“I will exalt you, LORD, for you rescued me. You refused to let my enemies triumph over me.” Psalm 30:1 Have you ever wondered, “Why are all these unfair setbacks and difficulties coming against us? Why all the opposition?” It’s because when we gave our life to Christ, God said, “You’re mine.” When He put a crown of favour on our head, we became a target to the enemy. He knows God has destined us to take new ground, so he’s working overtime to try to stop us. Those bad breaks weren’t random; those were strategic attacks. The enemy wouldn’t waste his time bringing those challenges if he didn’t know there was greatness in us. We need to know that there is a fight for our future, but it’s not our battle. God is fighting for us. The enemy may send opposition that looks too big, but God triumphs over every negative force. Those setbacks and difficulties that are trying to keep us from our destiny, God is speaking to them right now. Breakthroughs are coming, healing is coming, f

When You Are Not Seeing, Galatians 6:9

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart”. Galatians 6:9 It’s easy to believe when we’re seeing signs of what we’re believing for. The test comes when we’re praying, but the report isn’t improving. We know God put the promise in our heart, but there’s no sign of it happening. But many times, before a promise comes to pass, we have to go through a season of silence when we don’t see anything changing. This is when many people get discouraged and give up. Paul says that in due season we shall reap if we don’t lose heart. It doesn’t say there’s a good chance we’ll reap. God says that if we won’t get tired of doing the right thing, we will reap in due season.

The Doorkeeper, Revelation 3:7

“What He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open”. Revelation 3:7 We’ve all had times when we didn’t get the job we wanted, or the loan that didn’t go through. We did our best , but the door closed. But God wouldn’t allow the door to close if it was going to keep us from our destiny. We may not see how it can work out, but the scripture says God is our doorkeeper. Other people and obstacles cannot keep us from what God has ordained for us. It may feel as though we’re behind a closed door. We’re working hard, but not getting ahead in our finances. Those closed doors are not permanent. The Most High God is our doorkeeper.

Who Defines You, Revelation 12:10

Some people will try to define us by our mistakes. Revelation 12:10 They’ll stick labels on us, reminding us of the times we failed, the times we compromised. When we go through one bad season, don’t be surprised if people say, “God is not going to bless us.” They can’t stop what God has ordained for our life. We may have failed, but we’re not a failure. That was a moment in our life, that was one season, and it doesn’t determine our future. We cannot stop others from putting a negative label on us. We are defined by what God says about us. We are forgiven. We are redeemed. Our failures are in our yesterday.”

The Doorkeeper, Revelation 3:7

“What He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open”. Revelation 3:7 We’ve all had times when we didn’t get the job we wanted, or the loan that didn’t go through. Stir It Up, 2 Timothy 1:6

“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” 2 Timothy 1:6 One of the saddest things would be to come to the end of life and wonder what we could have become. “What if I hadn’t neglected to use the gift that God gave me? What if I had broken away from the people who were causing me to compromise? What if I had taken that step of faith in my career and not played it safe all the time?” You don’t have to wonder. You can start today. You can still become who God created you to be. The question is, do you want it badly enough? You have to go after what God has for you. Being passive and indifferent will keep you from your destiny. Stir your passion up and make the decision, “I’m going to pursue God and all that He has put in my heart. Prayer: “Father, Thank You for entrusting us with gifts and talents. Thank You that we have greatness in us because You put it there. Help us to stir up our faith and let the passion be

We Need Each Other, Romans 1:12

“Your faith will help me, and my faith will help you.” Romans 1:12 Next time you walk in the forest, stop and think about what’s taking place right under your feet. As the roots of the trees connect with each other, they form a support system. One has access to water, another to nutrients, and another to sunlight. No single tree has it all, but together they can grow, thrive and withstand the storms of life. “Then we will grow in every way and be more like Christ, the head of the body. Christ holds it together and makes all of its parts work perfectly, as it grows and becomes strong because of love.” Ephesians 4:15-16 Some of us are independent types and have difficulty with this concept. We want to fly solo – until we crash: 1. Encouragement: Even Paul needed encouragement:- “Every one in Asia has turned against me, especially Phygelus and Hermogenes. I pray that the Lord will be kind to the family of Onesiphorus. He often cheered me up and wasn’t ashamed of me when I was put in

He Has The Last Word, 1 Peter 5:10

The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ – eternal and glorious plans they are ! – will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does.” 1 Peter 5:10 When you go through difficulties you don’t understand, remind yourself that God is your heavenly Father. You are His prized possession. There is nothing He cares more about than you. You may have been knocked down, but be encouraged that our generous God is about to put you back on your feet. The process may be painful, but the purpose is well worth it. One day you’re going to look back and see how God worked it all for your good. Stay in faith. You are going to come out stronger and to a new level of your destiny.

Designed To Withstand, 2 Corinthians 4:8

“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair.” 2 Corinthians 4:8 Paul went through all kinds of unfair situations. He was accused of crimes, put in prison for years, and shipwrecked. He could have been overwhelmed and crushed under the pressure. Yet he wrote; “Thanks be to God who always causes us to triumph.” If we stay in faith as Paul did, we will discover we have been designed to withstand the pressure. We may be hard pressed, but we will not be crushed. Every word He promises will come to pass.

What Are You Wearing ? Colossians 3: 12

“So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline.” Colossians 3: 12 As a parent, sometimes we pick up clothes for our children to wear. Our heavenly Father has also picked up something for us to wear—kindness, compassion, humbleness, being disciplined. When we’re kind, people are drawn to us. When we’re good-natured, friendly, and humble, opportunities will come our way. People want to do business with people they like. When we’re hiring someone, a person’s résumé tells us what their skills are and what they’ve done, but we always meet with them to see what their attitude is. Are they positive, friendly, kind, and considerate? They can be extremely talented and have incredible potential, but a bad attitude will keep them from rising higher. Studies show that our attitude will have a greater impact on our success than our IQ. Our attitude can make up for a lack of experience

You Can’t Pay God Back, Romans 8:1

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus….” Romans 8:1 Sometimes we think we have to pay God back for our mistakes and sins, and we try to do it by being discouraged to show Him that we’re sorry, that we’re remorseful. True, there should be genuine remorse when we do something wrong. The point is that once we ask God for forgiveness, we don’t have to pay Him back. The price has already been paid on the cross. But when we live feeling guilty, we’re saying, in effect, the sacrifice Christ made wasn’t enough. We’re saying, “Let us add something to it. Let me do my part by paying some kind of penalty for the wrongs we’ve done.” Living under guilt and condemnation doesn’t bring any honour to God. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Fill This Prescription, John 16:33

“In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 Jesus acknowledged that we’re going to have challenges in this life, and everything is not going to be perfect. Nevertheless, He added, “Be of good cheer.” He didn’t say to be discouraged, to be upset, to be sad, or to be offended If the enemy can deceive you into living discouraged, he’ll be able to defeat you at every turn. Don’t fall into that trap. Your circumstances may not change, but you can change. Jesus says stay cheerful, be good-natured.

STAY FAITHFUL, 2 Kings 2:2

“But Elisha said, “As surely as the LORD lives and as you live, I will not leave you”. 2 Kings 2:2 When the prophet Elijah was about to be taken up to heaven in a whirlwind, three times he told his assistant Elisha that he did not need to go with him to Bethel. But Elisha, who had taken care of Elijah faithfully, wouldn’t hear of it. His attitude was, “I’m committed to you. I was with you in the good times of miracles, and I’m going to be with you to the end.” Elisha had plenty of reasons to walk away, but he was committed. Because he stayed committed to serving Elijah, Elisha received a double portion of Elijah’s anointing and ended up performing twice as many miracles as Elijah did. When we stay committed to our church, or, when we do the right thing when the wrong thing is happening, God will make things happen that we couldn’t make happen.

Break With The Past, Exodus 14:13

“Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.” Exodus 14:13 After Pharaoh let the Israelites leave Egypt, he came chasing after them because he thought he owned them as slaves. In other words, the past came chasing after, reminding the Israelites of what they had been. The past will always come chasing after us. The mistakes we’ve made, the disappointments, the failures. Don’t fall into that trap. Nothing that’s happened in our past and nothing that we’ve done have to keep us from the good things God has in store. He has mercy for our mistakes. He has new beginnings. Quit thinking and reliving the past for this is a new day. If we let go of the old, we’ll see the next levels God has in store.

Don’t be Against Yourself, 1 Corinthians 15:10

“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect.” 1 Corinthians 15:10 Sometimes we spend more time looking at what’s wrong with us than we do looking at what’s right with us. But if we don’t like ourselves in a healthy way, if we are living under guilt, feeling condemned and unworthy, it will negatively affect every relationship we have, including our relationship with God. If we acknowledge the grace of God in our lives, every chain that’s holding us back will be broken. We are going to come up higher, over come obstacles, and reach the fullness of our destiny.

Learn to be alone with God, Exodus 24:2

'Moses alone is to approach…the people may not come up with him.’ Exodus 24:2 It’s essential to be alone with God in order to hear clearly from Him. For a texting/tweeting generation hooked on mobile phones and bombarded by round-the-clock media, this can be a tough concept to grasp. But until we do, we’ll get nowhere spiritually. Jesus ‘often withdrew…and prayed’ (Luke 5:16 NIV). He ‘went up on a mountainside by himself to pray’ (Matthew 14:23 NIV). The greatest spiritual victories come from the battles God calls us to fight when we’re alone with Him. He outlines and clarifies His plans for our life when there’s nobody else around. When God is grooming us for a special assignment, we’ll be required to spend time outside the company of others.

When You Doubt, Matthew 11:2-3

“John the Baptist, who was in prison…sent his disciples to ask Jesus, “Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else ?” Matthew 11:2-3 John the Baptist had declared Jesus to be the Lamb of God, had seen the Spirit of God descend like a dove on Jesus, and had heard a voice from heaven say, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Yet later, when John was in prison, he started having doubts and sent his disciples to ask Jesus if He was really the Messiah. John was vulnerable and honest, and Jesus wasn’t the least disappointed in him. He understood what John was going through and answered with assurance. When we have doubts and questions, fears and struggles, we have to be honest. Faith doesn’t exempt us from life. When we’re honest with God about our doubts, our shortcomings, and our fears, that’s not a weakness, that’s a strength. When we humble ourselves and ask God for help, He will give us strength to overcome what we couldn

In The Waiting Room, James 1:4

“But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1:4 We all have things we’re waiting for—a dream to come to pass, a problem to turn around. When it’s taking longer than we thought, it’s easy to get impatient and think, “When is it ever going to happen?” Sometimes it’s not happening because we’re not prepared for what God has prepared. Sometimes, we may not see anything changing, but something is happening—patience is working in us. Our spiritual muscles are getting stronger. Don’t discount the waiting period. Don’t get discouraged because it’s not happening as fast as we like. The longer it takes, the more God has in store.

The Hand of God, Job 27:11

“I will teach you about the hand of God; what is with the Almighty I will not conceal”. Job 27:11 Life is too short to live frustrated because we’re not getting our way or because something unfair happened. God wouldn’t have allowed it if it was going to keep us from our destiny. It’s a test. Are we going to let it steal our joy, or are we going to be still and know that He is God? If He’s not changing it, we have to be mature enough to say, “God, we don’t like this situation, but You’re in control. We are going to stay in peace and enjoy our life.” Could it be that what’s frustrating us is really the hand of God? Could it be He’s doing things behind the scenes that is for our good? He’s guiding us, protecting us, preparing us. Not everything that happens is ordained by God, but nothing can happen without His permission. When it doesn’t make sense to us, we have to trust Him. He’s given us grace to go through it. If we pass the test, we’ll see promotion, healing, breakthroughs, a

WHY IS TRINITY IMPORTANT

Christians say they believe in one God; the only God. Yet He is also three Persons: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This is, at best, baffling. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit ~ Matthew 28:19 (emphasis added) Trying to comprehend the Trinity is so confusing, we have to wonder if it is really worth it. What difference does the Trinity actually make to our relationship with God? Does it really matter whether we think about this difficult bit of theology? We need to remember Jesus’ words when He sent His followers to “make disciples of all nations” after His resurrection. He told them to do so “baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matt. 28:19). For Jesus, making disciples isn’t simply introducing others to the concept of God or even just the Person of Jesus. It is important that we know, and tell others about, who God really is; He is three distinct y

Scars Tell Our Story, John 15:5

“For I bear on my body the scars that show I belong to Jesus.” John 15:5 While life brings its share of physical scars from injuries, there are also inner scars that come from what somebody said, from a failure we made, from the loss of a loved one. So often we try to hide our scars from those wounds. They remind us of the hurt. But we need to see our scars in a new light. God allowed that scar to remind us of what He brought us through. The scar means the wound has healed, the pain is over, and we are moving forward. We can be at peace with our scars. Those scars tell our story. No one in the scripture fulfilled their destiny without scars. We all get wounded. The scar is proof that God healed us. The scar reminds us of the greatness of God.

When we’re real, 2 Corinthians 3:18

“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 Paul says that if your face is veiled with masks, you won’t see God’s glory. If you’re wearing a mask of perfection, pretending everything is okay, or wearing a mask of pride, worried about what others think, or wearing a mask of shame, feeling guilty and condemned, that’s going to keep you from God’s best. You have to take off the masks. Everybody is struggling with something. Don’t be embarrassed by it. Get honest with yourself, and be honest with God. You don’t have to pretend. When you’re real, you’ll see God’s favour. God doesn’t change us from shame to glory, or from condemnation to glory, or from pride to glory. He changes us from glory to glory. When you’re not wearing masks, God’s glory is on you. When you’re open, honest, and real, God changes you and takes you to the next level.

Speak What You Hear, 1 Kings 18:41

“Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink, for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” 1 Kings 18:41 (NKJV) When the prophet Elijah heard God speak to his spirit and told King Ahab, “I hear the sound of abundance of rain,” it hadn’t rained in Israel for over three years. Elijah could have thought he was not going to tell anyone what he heard. Similarly, still today God speaks to us about what is coming, and it may be the exact opposite of what our circumstances look like. It’s not enough to just believe what we hear. The scripture says, “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so” (Psalm 107:2). Our words have power. When we announce it, it sets the miracle in motion.

Live Securely, 1 John 3:1

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” 1 John 3:1 The Scripture speaks of “the great love the Father has lavished on us.” It was not a conditional love. It was and is a “great love”. We think about how much we love God, but what is far more profound is how much God loves us. Before we were formed, God knew and loved us. He took time to plan out all our days. He knows our thoughts before we think them. He knows our words before we speak. Jesus says, “the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” So how much God feel when we go around thinking, “I think He loves me. I think I’m good enough. I think I haven’t done too much wrong”? God says, get rid of the “I think” mentality, and start having an “I know” mentality. Live securely, knowing that our heavenly Father loves us.

Serve Faithfully, Matthew 25:21

“Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little: I will set you over much. Each into the joy of your master.” Matthew 25:21 There are times in life when we feel like we are doing the right thing but not making progress. It’s easy to get discouraged and lose our passion. One test we all have to pass is being faithful when nothing new is happening. We are just going to work, coming back home, doing the same thing again. Will you stay faithful when it feels like you are going in circles ? When you are faithful in the routine, something is happening that you can not see. Your character is being developed. Your spiritual muscles are getting stronger. The routineness of life is not exciting, but it is necessary. You won’t become all you were created to be without being your best when it’s mundane. When you are doing the right thing with a good attitude month after month, you are being prepared for where God is taking you. When God can trust you to be faithful in

Limitless Love Of God, 1 John 4:7-19

1 John 4:7-19 God is love. Whoever lives in love in God, and God in them. 1 John 4:16. "God is love ", John wrote, repeatedly, perhaps because the truth that God's love is the foundation of reality, amid the deception and power struggles. God's love remains a light that shines in the darkness, inviting us to learn the way through humility, trust and love.

The ‘If only’ trap, Ecclesiastes 11:4

‘Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant.’ Ecclesiastes 11:4 NLT Author Betty Mahalik says in this day and age we’re surrounded by messages that scream, ‘My life would be perfect if only I’d a different job…house…car…nose…spouse…bank account (you fill in the blank). Or if I could be like some celebrity whose life appears well ordered and perfect. Well this week I stopped playing “my life would be perfect if,” and started playing “my perfect life”. What’s the difference? Three things: 1) Being in the present; 2) An attitude of gratitude; 3) Taking action with what’s available now…When we’re caught up in the “my life would be perfect if” trap, we lose touch with the present and can no longer practise gratitude. Think about it: it’s difficult to be grateful for what you don’t have…and what you don’t have is always somewhere in “future-ville”. Look around you…do you have a roof over your head and food to eat? A few good friends or close relationships? Then appreciate them…You’re p

God's Plan, 2 Corinthians 4:17

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. 2 Corinthians 4:17 FAR MORE EXCEEDING: There are times when life comes at us like a flood – a difficulty, opposition, a great loss. You cannot choose when or where the flood comes from. That’s in God’s hands. We may not understand it, but God said His plans for us are for good to give us a bright future. That doesn’t mean bad things won’t happen along the way, but God knows how to use them for good. He wouldn’t allow it if it wasn’t going to work to our advantage. Remember that what you’re going through is temporary, but what it works in you will bless you forever. If you could see where God is going to take you – the favour, the influence, the abundance, the health, the friends – you would realize there is a purpose for every challenge. When you don’t understand the purpose, you have to say, “God, I don’t see what You’re doing, but I trust You. I know Your ways ar

Priority in Life, Proverbs 4:7

Proverbs 4:7 "... get wisdom. Though it cost all you have,...." Wisdom begins with a profound reverence to God. Out of that grows our understanding of sin and our need for a Saviour. Wisdom seeks to understand God's ways. Thus, wisdom is the greatest priority.

Wisdom, Job 12:13-25

Job 12:13-25 "To God belong wisdom and power, counsel and understanding are his. " Job 12:13 We won't always understand why we are going through trials. This was certainly the case for Job, who faced horrendous and unexplainable suffering and loss. Yet despite his many questions, in Job 12 he declares that God is mighty : "what he tears down cannot be rebuilt " and "to him belong strength and insight ". We may not understand why God allows certain struggles in our lives, but we can put our trust in Him. The Lord loves us.

The Holy Spirit, John 14:16-17

John 14:16-17 "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. " John 14:27. Jesus promised this to the followers after the "last supper. " He reminded them that although they would face trouble in this world, the Father would send the Spirit of truth to live with them, and be in them. Although as God's children, we face hardships in the world, we're comforted that the Holy Spirit lives within us and flowing out of us.

The Power Of Prayer, Colossians 4:2

Colossians 4:2 "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." Through prayer God prepares us for the encounter and our prayer is a part of His providential care. Even in the most mundane moments,God directs our paths and keeps us in His mercy, strength and love.

God's Promise, Revelation 21:1-5

Revelation 21:1-5 "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. " Revelation 21:4. John describes in Revelation 21 a beautiful victory scene, where God makes His home with His people, and wipes "every tear from their eyes " in a place with "no more death or mourning or crying or pain, " We can surely cling to this promise, in our troubled time.

Jesus Gave Us Life, Matthew 8:17

Matthew 8:17 "This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah : 'He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases'. " Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows. When Christ died, He bore our sins in his body on the cross. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice, who died to give us life.

Breaking Down Barriers, Acts 2:1-12

Acts 2:1-12 "When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken. " Acts 2:6. When the Holy Spirit came upon the first Christians at Pentecost, He enabled them to praise God in their own language. Through this, everyone heard the same message, no matter their nationality or language. God is breaking down barriers to form a new humanity.

Our Lord Is Caring, Psalm 103:13-18

Psalm 103:13-18 "As for man, his days are like grass, he flourishes like a flower of the field. " Psalm 103:15. While praising God, David reminds how quickly the joyful moments of our lives pass away, "the wind blows over it and it is gone. " In contrast, David further assures us, "from everlasting to everlasting the Lord's love is with those who fear him. "

God's Generosity, Proverbs 11:23-31

"A generous person will prosper, whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. " Proverbs 11:25. When we are generous with others, we're likely to experience generosity. But we shouldn't give, expecting something in return. But when we're generous, God is pleased, and often finds a way to refresh us.

Ministry Of Reconciliation, Romans 5: 10

Romans 5: 10 In Christ there is no east or west, but one fellowship of love throughout the whole wide earth. Racial and political tensions are nothing new. But Church is never to feed divisiveness. We should not attack those unlike us or those who hold different opinion or even those who seek our destruction. Ours is the ministry of reconciliation.

The Bread Of Life, John 6:47-59

John 6:47-59 "I am the living bread that came down from heaven. " John 6:51. In the gospel of John, Jesus reminds His listeners that when their ancestors wandered hungry in the wilderness, God provided quail and bread. That food satisfied them for a time. But Jesus promises us that those who accept Him as the "bread of life", will "live forever. "

God's Handiwork, Ephesians 2:4-10

Ephesians 2:4-10 " ...we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. " Ephesians 2:10. Paul wrote to the Ephesians of their purpose in this world, describing them as "God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works. " Paul goes on to say that God's "handiwork" of creating us would result in our "handiwork" of creating good works for His glory in our world.

Peace Of Christ, Colossians 3:12-17

Colossians 3:12-17 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. Colossians 3:15 In these verses, Paul was writing to a church he'd never visited but had heard about from his friend Epaphras. He was concerned that as they encountered false teaching, they were losing the peace of Christ. But instead of admonishing them, Paul encouraged them to trust Jesus, who would give them assurance and hope. We all will encounter times when we can choose to embrace or refuse the rule of Christ's peace in our hearts. As we turn to Him, asking Jesus to dwell in us, He will gently release us from the anxiety and cares that weigh us down. As we seek His peace, we trust that He will meet us with His love.

The Focus, Mathew 14:23-33

Mathew 14:23-33 "But Jesus immediately said to them : Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid. " Mathew 14:27. One night, Peter and the other disciples were sailing across the Sea of Galilee when a strong storm arose. All of a sudden, Jesus showed up walking on water! This took the disciples by surprise. He reassured them - "Take courage ! It is I. Don't be afraid. " Peter impulsively asked Jesus if he could join Him, and stepped out of the boat, and walked towards Jesus. But he soon lost focus, became aware of the dangerous and humanly impossible circumstances he was in, and started sinking. He cried out, "Lord, save me! ", and Jesus rescued him. Like Peter, we can learn that Jesus is with us, even in the storms of life.

His Invisible Presence, Numbers 13:30. 14:9

Numbers 13:30. 14:9 "We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it. " Numbers 13:30. Caleb and Joshua said, "... the Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them. " Unbelief never lets us go beyond the difficulties. It engages us with human resources. Faith, on the other hand, though never minimizes the dangers and difficulties of any situation, looks away from them to God, and counts on His invisible presence and power.

God Cares, Matthew 6:8

Matthew 6:8 "Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him." When we pray we need to shift our own concerns and praise God for his love and protection with thanksgiving. God already cares about our concerns -- a loved one's cancer, a broken family, a rebellious teenager, financial concerns --- our Father knows more than we do ! All that we need to ask what part we can play in His work on earth. With this new starting point for prayer, our perceptions change. Prayer channels God's supply to our needs.

The Power Of Prayer, Colossians 4:2

Colossians 4:2 "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." Through prayer God prepares us for the encounter and our prayer is a part of His providential care. Even in the most mundane moments, God directs our paths and keeps us in His mercy, strength and love.

Generosity, Proverbs 11:23-31

Proverbs 11:23-31 "A generous person will prosper, whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. " Proverbs 11:25. When we are generous with others, we're likely to experience generosity. But we shouldn't give, expecting something in return. But when we're generous, God is pleased, and often finds a way to refresh us.

The Kingdom Of God, Mark 1:15

Mark 1:15 "The kingdom of God is near Repent and believe the good news." When the Supernatural makes contact with the planet Earth, God takes an approach that we need not fear. Introducing Jesus, the Son of God; coming out of obscurity, this unique God - Man preaches, performs miracles and encounters both great popularity and deadly opposition. God didn't give us the spirit of fear but a sound mind.

Does God Listen To Our Cries ? Matthew 27:46

Matthew 27:46 About ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani ?" - which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me ?" Does God listen to our cries? We must leave the unknowable to the all knowing One. He is listening and working things out His way, and in His time! When we bend our knees to pray, God bends His ears to listen.

God's Generosity, Proverbs 11:23-31

Proverbs 11:23-31 "A generous person will prosper, whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. " Proverbs 11:25. When we are generous with others, we're likely to experience generosity. But we shouldn't give, expecting something in return. But when we're generous, God is pleased, and often finds a way to refresh us, sometimes materially, and other times spiritually.

Jesus' Love For Us, Acts 9:1-22

Acts 9:1-22 "At once he began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God. " Acts 9:20. Once Paul was one of the most feared persecutors of the church, until his encounter with Christ. His drastic transformation added to the credibility of his Spirit empowered teaching. Our first personal encounter with Jesus may not be as dramatic as Paul's, but Christ's love is changing us over time.

Faith, Genesis 39:6-12, 20-23

Genesis 39:6-12, 20-23 While Joseph was there in the prison, the Lord was with him. Genesis 39:20-21 In the account from Genesis 37 , Joseph had no idea what would happen to him after he was mercilessly sold by his brothers to the merchants who took him to Egypt and sold him to Potiphar. He found himself in a culture surrounded by people who believed in many gods. To make things worse, he was falsely accused, leading to his being sent to the prison. Yet God did not abandon him. Not only was He with Joseph, but He "gave him success in everything he did " and even "showed him kindness and granted him favor " with those in authority.

Obedience, Luke 23:32-46

Luke 23:32-46 "The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life.... No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. " John 10:17-18. Even in his final hours, Jesus showed His love for us. He showed it to the mocking soldiers who nailed Him, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing. " He gave hope to a criminal, crucified with Him, "...today you will be with me in paradise. " Looking at John, He told His mother, "...here is your son ". And, He told to John, "Here is your mother. " Jesus' last act of obedience and love was to trust the Father, "Into your hands I commit my spirit. "

Identity Of Jesus, John1:14

John1:14 "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.We have seen his glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." The creation is one example, when God spoke the word and the earth came into existence. Here the word refers Jesus Christ who is distinct from the Father and yet is God in fullest sense. It's all about God's active and personal involvement in the world. Jesus unlike any other, is God's One and Only divine Son who is the only person both fully divine and fully human.

The Good Shepherd, Isaiah 53:1-6

Isaiah 53:1-6 "We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way.... " Isaiah 53:6. We stray in several ways, doing what displeases the Lord, hurting others by our conduct, and not spending time with God and in His Word, as we're too "busy " with ourselves. We behave like sheep in the field. But we've the Good Shepherd, who laid down His life for us. He carries our sorrows and sins as our shepherd. He calls us to the safe pasture, so that we follow Him closely.

Working For The Lord, Job 38:1-22

Job 38:1-22 " Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men." Colossians 3:23 God designed us and entrusted us with the desire to work to care for the Earth and its creatures. No matter what work we do, God empowers and gives us what we need to work wholeheartedly for Him.

Trust In Jesus, Colossians 3:5

Colossians 3:5 "Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immortality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry." The earthly nature and the deeds it typically produces are strong for mere human will-power to resist. But Christ living within us can overcome the earthly nature. By increasing our trust in Christ, His Spirit increasingly gives us the strength to follow His commands. Overtime, as we pursue our relationship with the Holy Spirit, the earthly nature is overshadowed and the new creation comes to dominate.

Honouring The Lord, Psalm 50:15

Psalm 50:15 "Call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver you, and you will honour me." Our God is the sovereign Lord of the universe who needs no sacrifice. He is our Redeemer, Healer, Friend. We must always have a faithful and a sincere heart with an attitude of gratitude for Him.

Our Priorities, Luke 9:23

Luke 9:23 "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." The Kingdom of God belongs to those who recognize their Spiritual poverty and see their need for God's help. We must avoid any selfishness or unhealthy pride that could inhabit the genuine humility and faith God desires. Without denying our self-worth, Jesus asks us to deny our self- centeredness so that his priorities becomes ours.

Watch In Hope For The Lord, Micah 7:7

Micah 7:7 "But for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Saviour; my God will hear me." In an increasingly violent society, when God seems distant and uninvolved, we must remember that He still cares and offers hope for those who choose to watch, wait and Pray.

The Spirit Of Truth, John 14:15-21

John 14:15-21 "If you love me, keep my commands. " John 14:15. Jesus said, "if you love me, keep my commands ". He also said, "I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and will be with you forever--the Spirit of truth ". It is by the work of the Spirit, who is with us and in us that we can learn to obey Jesus and keep His commands.

God's Approval, 1 Thessalonians 2:1-4

1 Thessalonians 2:1-4 "We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts. " 1 Thessalonians 2:4. What does it mean to seek God's approval? It involves two things - turning from the desire for the praise of others, and allowing His Spirit to make us more like Christ, the One who loved us and gave Himself for us.

The Power Of Prayers, Matthew 6:6

Matthew 6:6 "When you pray,go into your room close the door and pray to your father, who is unseen." Then our Father sees what is done in secret. For he knows what we need before we ask Him. God assures us He hears and cares about every single spoken and unspoken prayers.

God's Favour, 1 Chronicles 29:6-16

1 Chronicles 29:6-16 "The earth is the Lord's , and everything in it." Psalm 24-1 When King David received offering from the people of Israel for building the temple in Jerusalem, he prayed, "But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. " "...all of it belongs to you ". In Deuteronomy 8:18 - even "the ability to produce wealth " and earn a living come from Him. Understanding that all we have is borrowed, encourages us to loosen our grip on the stuff of this world and live with open hands and hearts - sharing freely because we are thankful for the kindness we receive daily. Our God is a generous giver, so loving that He even gave up His Son "for us all " . Because, we have been given so much, may we give Him our heartfelt thanks for blessings small and large.

Obedience, Luke2:19

Luke2:19 "But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart." When we struggle to understand the meaning of what's happening in our lives, we have Mary's wonderful example. God chose Mary for a special assignment and Mary humbly accepted it. She knew her assignment was based on God's guidance and not on merit. We are blessed when we, like Mary, surrender to His will and obey His call. Our obedience to God will guide us through the unknown and draw us closer to Him.

Ambassador Of God, John 3:9-21

John 3:9-21 "For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. " John 3:17 Jesus' invitation to believe in Him in verse 16 is followed by these, "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. " Instead of being agents of condemnation, we should be ambassadors of God's love and mercy.

Firm In Faith, 1 Peter 5:9

1 Peter 5:9 "Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings ". None of us is immune to temptation. We can get prepared by having a strong faith in God, which can be further strengthened through prayers. When we stand "firm in the faith " we'll know when to turn to Him.

The New Creation, 2 Corinthians 5:17

2 Corinthians 5:17 "If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here !" Everything is made new when we are in Christ. Life takes on a new direction and purpose. The Power Of Prayers, Colossians 4:2

Colossians 4:2 "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." Through prayer God prepares us for the encounter and our prayer is a part of His providential care. Even in the most mundane moments, God directs our paths and keeps us in His mercy, strength and love.

Wisdom, Proverbs 4:7

Proverbs 4:7 "... get wisdom. Though it cost all you have,...." Wisdom begins with a profound reverence to God. Out of that grows our understanding of sin and our need for a Saviour. Wisdom seeks to understand God's ways. Thus, wisdom is the greatest priority.

Praise To The Lord, Isaiah 25: 1

Isaiah 25: 1 " ...in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago." It may be hard to hear God saying "no" even when we are praying for something, deliverance at the time of crisis. But still our praise should not be about destruction; but about what's next, fulfilment of God's kingdom. God reigns! He keeps giving us reasons to praise Him.

God's Blessings, Jude 1: 24

Jude 1: 24 "To him who is able to keep you from stumbling...." How assuring to know that when we hold our peace when tempted to speak angrily, to opt for honesty over deceit, choose love over hate or to select truth over error -- we experience God's power to keep us standing and sustaining Grace as we Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

God's Mercy, Jeremiah 24-7

Jeremiah 24-7 "I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart". The key to repentance and transformation is found in God's promise. This verse indicates that God works in people's lives for them to escape their sinful conditions. It was only because of the Lord's mercy that the "exiles" could be changed. God can use our disappointments to nurture our faith in Him.

Our Trials In Life, Job 12:13-25

Job 12:13-25 "To God belong wisdom and power, counsel and understanding are his. " Job 12:13 We won't always understand why we are going through trials. This was certainly the case for Job, who faced horrendous and unexplainable suffering and loss. Yet despite his many questions, in Job 12 he declares that God is mighty : "what he tears down cannot be rebuilt " and "to him belong strength and insight ". We may not understand why God allows certain struggles in our lives, but we can put our trust in Him. The Lord loves us.

Challenges Of Life, John 14:15-21

John 14:15-21 "I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you. " John 14:18 In our life's journey, we would face joys and sorrows, conflict and loss. Many a time, we would not be able to see a clear road. However, as followers, we do not face this journey alone. The Scriptures reminds us of the constant presence of God. He will never leave us. Jesus, after promising to send the Holy Spirit, told His disciples, "I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you. " The challenges and opportunities we face on our journey can be met confidently, for God has promised us His never failing presence.

God Is Light, 1 John 2:3-11

1 John 2:3-11 "The darkness is passing and the true light is already shining ". 1John 2:8 John wrote these words to believers as a message of encouragement. He went on to say, "Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble ". By contrast, he equated hating people with roaming around in darkness. Hatred is disorienting, it takes away our sense of moral direction. Loving people is not always easy. When we choose love instead of hate, we are showing our relationship with Him and reflecting His radiance to the world around us. "God is light, in him there is no darkness at all ". 1 John 1:5

Our Comforter, John 14:16-17

John 14:16-17 "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. " John 14:27. Jesus promised this to the followers after the "last supper. " He reminded them that although they would face trouble in this world, the Father would send the Spirit of truth to live with them, and be in them. Although as God's children, we face hardships in the world, we're comforted that the Holy Spirit lives within us and flowing out of us.

Encourage One Another, Romans 15:1-7

Romans 15:1-7 "Each of us should please our neighbours for their good, to build them up. " Romans 15:2.

Jesus calls us to the healing act of repentance, which sets "...our hearts at rest in his presence. "

Our New Home, Revelation 22:1-5

Revelation 22:1-5 "No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city. " Revelation 22:3. In His grace, we can find a healthy perspective of the things we possess, and they should not become the things that destroy us.

Peacemakers, Matthew 5:9, 13-16

Matthew 5:9, 13-16 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God". Matthew 5:9. Jesus calls us to be peacemakers. To make peace is to bring harmony, and to become the "salt of the earth", and the "light of the world."

Hebrews 10:10-23 "...we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body. " Hebrews 10:19-20. The curtain symbolized the reality of the cross, a new way. Jesus, the Man on the cross, had shed His blood as the last sacrifice. This allows all who believe in Him to enjoy forgiveness, and enter into a relationship with God.

New Life, Mark 1:9-15

Mark 1:9-15 "The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news! " Mark 1:15. Jesus began His mission with these words. Instead of running to places that entrap us, or being ruled by fear, Jesus explains that we can be ruled by God, who lovingly leads us to new life and freedom.

2 Corinthians 4:16, 5:9 "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:16. What's true about an old house, is also true about our body. Our bodies, like an old house, will eventually look like a bit worse with time. But as Paul explains, there is good news. 1 Peter 4:7-11 "God demonstrates his own love for us in this : While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. " Romans 5:8. Peter explained, "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. " The love Jesus showed through His death on the cross frees us from the debt for our sins and opens the door for our reconciliation with God. His forgiveness empowers us to forgive others. When we love others because our Saviour loves them, God gives us strength to let go of the past and go forward with Him.

Leave The Past Behind, 2 Corinthians 5:12-21

2 Corinthians 5:12-21 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come." 2 Corinthians 5:17. Faith, Acts 5:15

Acts 5:15 "... people brought those who were ill into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter's shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. " How could a shadow heal people ? Peter's reputation as a man of God empowered to heal was so widespread that people tried to get as close to him as they could. When people respond in faith to God's work, He responds in various ways.

The Promise, Psalm 111

Psalm 111 "He provided redemption for his people, he ordained his covenant forever - holy and awesome is his name. " Psalm 111:9. From the promise of salvation in Genesis 3:15, and all the way to the hope of a new heaven and new earth (Revelation 21:1-2), the Bible explains that God has an eternal plan in rescuing us from our sin and allowing us to enjoy the fellowship with Him. In every story, the Bible is pointing us to Jesus, the only One who can solve our biggest problem. Jesus offers us and explains how to live as His children.

The Battle Within Us, 2 Corinthians 4:1-6

2 Corinthians 4:1-6 "...Our Saviour, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immorality to light through the gospel. " 2 Timothy 1:10. When it comes to "good news", many still haven't heard or don't believe that Jesus has "destroyed death and has brought life and immorality to light through the gospel. " Some of us, who have heard and believed still live defeated lives, trying to survive on our own. However, Jesus reminds us that the "battle" has already been "won".

God's Power, Matthew 21:21

Matthew 21:21 "...'Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig-tree, but also you can say to this mountain, "Go, throw yourself into the sea, " and it will be done.' " Jesus wanted his disciples to have confidence that "God's power" was available to them. Jesus knew he would soon be sending his disciples out with the daunting task of bringing the world to him.The fig tree would remind them that God's power could help them overcome any obstacle. Now, we can pray with confidence that our God is "able".

The Power Of Prayer, 2 Corinthians 1:8-11

2 Corinthians 1:8-11 "On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. " 2 Corinthians 1:10-11. Paul shared this while writing to the Corinthian church. Paul experienced trouble in the province of Asia. The persecution was so severe that he and his companions "despaired of life itself. " However, Paul was helped by the prayers of believers. Though the Corinthian church was many miles away, their prayers mattered and God heard them. Similarly, today, we can continue to remember our brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering for their faith.

Our Hope, Romans 8:31-39

Romans 8:31-39 "If God is for us, who can be against us ?" Romans 8:31. Through the uncertainty of this world, God can be trusted completely, knowing that nothing "...will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. "

Times Of Trust, Matthew 14:28

Matthew 14:28 " ' Lord, if it's you, ' Peter replied, 'tell me to come to you on the water ' ". Why did Peter think he could walk on water ? Perhaps he sought further confirmation of the Lord's identity and power. Peter's struggling faith led him to do things that seem impulsive and even reckless. On other occasions too, he willingly risked his own safety and comfort to be near Jesus. Times of trouble are times of "trust".

God's Special Possession, 1 Peter 2:4-10

1 Peter 2:4-10 "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Our Refuge, Psalm 46:1-11

Psalm 46:1-11 "God is our refuge and strength. " 46:1. Amid the storms of life, the scripture points us to the safest place, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Jesus' Authority, Matthew 8:3

Matthew 8:3 "Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. 'I am willing ', he said. 'Be clean! ' Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy. " Why did Jesus touch the leper ? By touching the "untouchable" Jesus demonstrated his authority over the law. He cared more about people's needs than about religious ritual.

Jesus Took Our Sins, John 20:24-29

John 20:24-29 "See my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe. John 20:27. When Jesus appeared after His ressurection, He brought His scars. John writes Thomas wanting to see "the nail marks in his hands" and Jesus inviting Thomas to "put your finger here, see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side". In order to demonstrate He was the same Jesus, He rose from the dead with the scars of His suffering still visible.

Training For Us, Matthew 16:21-28

Matthew 16:21-28 "On this rock I will build my church. " Matthew 16:18. God uses our struggles as opportunities to equip us to continue working for Him. Peter's life was marked by inexperience and mistakes. His faith faltered as he tried to walk on water. He wasn't sure if Jesus should pay the temple tax. He rejected Christ's prophesy about the crucifixion and resurrection. Through each issue, Jesus taught Peter about who He was. Peter listened and learned what he needed to know to found the early church. Likewise, if we are discouraged by failure, we should remember Jesus would lead us forward. Jesus continued to work with Peter despite his shortcomings.

Our Only Hope, Psalm 39:1-7

"Psalm 39:1-7 But now, Lord what do I look for? My hope is in you. " Psalm 39-7 David 's broken spirit caused him to reflect : "Show me, Lord, my life's end and the number of my days, let me know how fleeting my life is". Amid his renewed focus, David didn't despair. He had nowhere else to turn. "But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you ". David would survive this personal battle and go on to serve God. Father, our hope is in You. We are in the best place we can imagine when we go to God in prayer.

Our Infirmities, Matthew 8:17

Matthew 8:17 "This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah : 'He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases'. " Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows. When Christ died, He bore our sins in his body on the cross. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice, who died to give us life.

Our Introduction, 2 Corinthians 2:17-3:6

2 Corinthians 2:17-3:6 You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, and read by everyone. 2 Corinthians 3:2 Paul didn't require a letter of recommendation when he spoke to the church in Corinth, they knew him. In his second letter to that church, Paul wrote that he preached the gospel out of sincerity, not for personal gain. As we follow Jesus, this becomes true of us too, our lives tell the story of the goodness of the gospel.

Our Entitlement, Psalm 103

Psalm 103 "Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits ". Psalm 103:2. Psalm 103 reminds us that "The Lord is compassionate and gracious.... He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him. " In our walk of faith, we come to Jesus humbled by our unworthiness. There is no sense of entitlement as we receive His grace, and are overwhelmed by His love. They remind us of "all His benefits".

God Is With Us, 2 Samuel 22:26-30

2 Samuel 22:26-30 "You, Lord, are my lamp, the Lord turns my darkness into light." 2 Samuel 22:29. In this, David mentioned about "darkness" which includes defeat, weakness, and stress. Many of us live with same anxiety, which invites stress and worry. However, when we face "darkness" , we can find peace because we know God is with us.

God Is Our Fortress, Psalm 46

Psalm 46 "The Lord Almighty is with us, the God of Jacob is our fortress. " Psalm 46:7. It is tempting to rationalize that the presence of trouble means the absence of God. But the truth of scripture counters such view. "The Lord Almighty is with us, the God of Jacob is our fortress, " He is present when our circumstances are unbearable, and we find comfort in Him.

Good Shepherd, Isaiah 53:1-6

Isaiah 53:1-6 "We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way.... " Isaiah 53:6. We stray in several ways, doing what displeases the Lord, hurting others by our conduct, and not spending time with God and in His Word, as we're too "busy " with ourselves. We behave like sheep in the field. But we've the Good Shepherd, who laid down His life for us. He carries our sorrows and sins as our shepherd. He calls us to the safe pasture, so that we follow Him closely.

God's Promise For Us, Matthew 27:46

Matthew 27:46 "Jesus cried out in a loud voice,... 'My God, my God, why have you forsaken me ' ?" As Jesus suffered and died under the burden of our sins, He was suddenly alone, forsaken, isolated, cut off from His relationship with the Father. Yet His suffering in isolation secured for us the promise of the Father, "Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you. " Hebrews 13:5

Jesus' Love and Obedience, Luke 23:32-46

Hope In Darkness, John 1:5, 16:1-11, 33

John 1:5, 16:1-11, 33 "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. " John 16:33. Jesus warned His disciples about the trouble they would face. They would be rejected by people, who "...will do such things because they have not known the Father or me. " But Jesus offered words of comfort. We can turn to Him for guidance and comfort.

God Is Larger Than Any Trouble, 1 Samuel 17:41-50

1 Samuel 17:41-50 "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Almighty,... " 1 Samuel 17:45. When Goliath challenged Israel to engage in battle, no one was willing to fight. King Saul said, "...all the Israelites were... terrified. " However, David said, "This day the Lord will deliver you (Goliath) into my hands,... " David believed in God, and with a single stone he proved his faith. We're tempted to believe that our troubles direct our future, but if we have faith, God dominates, and directs our future.

Observe And Obey, James 1:22-25

James 1:22-25 "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it. " Luke 11:28. This is the reason James' instruction is so appropriate -- "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. " His "mirror" illustration enables us to know what it means to "observe" that needs attention. But we are deceived if we think that observing alone is enough. God wants us to observe and obey His Word.

Power Of Prayer, Luke 18:1-8

Luke 18:1-8 "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. " Colossians 4:2. In Luke, we see "... Jesus told His disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. " In the story, Jesus contrasts an "unjust judge ", who answers a request merely because he didn't want to be further bothered. However, Jesus encourages us that when we pray, God hears and welcomes our prayers. He loves us, and wants us to come to Him.
